Hey all. Apologies once again for the lack of blogs lately. Work is hectic and we seem to scarcely have a weekend to ourselves to just game lately. But Evennote and Citi are doing a fine job of putting out regular posts. If you don’t already follow them, check them out 🙂
Today saw Hymm and Willowing hit level 30 on what is Hymm’s 29th life. This was my 2nd fighter life and I went 12 fighter/8 rogue and back to my favourite style of play – quarterstaff fighter. It’s been a fun solid build, though I suspect it was made much easier by running with a pure Warlock, which is Rach’s third Warlock life. I think she’s looking forward to moving on to other builds – she’s actually kind of bored of the Warlock now (what?!?).
Anyway, for anyone who might be interested the build is below. If I were to change anything I would probably remove the Whirlwind feat and the feats required to get it (Mobility, Combat Expertise and Spring Attack). I always think Whirlwind is going to be really cool, and then it disappoints. This build could easily be converted to any other kind of Two Handed Fighting weapon easily enough, with just the change to the Weapon Specialisation feats. The 8 rogue levels is obviously good for trapping (it was my turn this life) but also adds to the quarterstaff fighting via enhancements. If you were going to change the weapon, you might not want as many rogue levels. But then again – you’d still have the roguey goodness and you can always spend your points elsewhere 😛

We also found that once we hit epic levels we could deal with mobs fairly easily by my running in and putting down a healing circle (Consecration from the Epic Destiny Divine Crusader) and Rach dropping tentacles on top of it.
Next life is back to an iconic race. I know Rach is going back to Ranger and incorporating rogue (not sure which race she’s picking – probably Shadar Kai) and I’ll be doing my second Deep Gnome Wizard life, but I’m throwing in 5 levels of Warlock. It may work out terrible, but since I don’t tend to be an effective caster it’s unlikely to be any worse 😀
And to finish off, some pics from this morning’s quests that took us the last 1/2 a level to 30.
Oh, one more thing to finish off. I haven’t forgotten the app – but things really have been busy. I got started on it again at the end of last week. So – eventually……
Have fun, see you around 😀
YES, that cube does need to be a pet! As do those umber hulks… and Malicia. And… NO, EVEN, STOP WITH THE PET WISH LIST.
I’m impressed… I still have no toons who’ve gotten past their third lives, let alone 29!
Ah – but you have all those characters you play, on all those servers. I have 16 chars on Sarlona and only really play Hymm with any regularity 😀
Reblogged this on DDOCentral.
I wish Erdrique would start blogging regularly again. I am counting on his posts for fresh content.
Oh, sure – go ahead and mention Even and Citi. No, no, that’s OK. They do do (do do?) a good job of posting. 😛
😉
oops sorry Comic – you too do an excellent job of posting 🙂
