What would you be?

I’ve started reading Critical Failures (Caverns and Creatures) by Robert Bevan. It’s about a group of people who play a game which, basically, is Dungeons & Dragons (they call the game C&C in the book… I see what he did there). They have advertised for someone to GM for them so they can all play characters, rather than taking turns in GM’ing themselves. Unfortunately they annoy the GM and he decides to get his own back on them – he sends them into the game. They turn into their various characters (halfling rogue, half orc barbarian etc). I haven’t finished the book, but I imagine it will entail them trying to get back to the real world.

The book, so far, is well written and fun to read. But that isn’t what this blog is about 😀

I was telling Rach about it and after musing about what her character would be based on her ‘real life stats’ decided she’d be a fighter type. Decent strength, constitution and dexterity, not so good on the intelligence, wisdom & charisma (those are her words – not mine!!)

That got me to thinking about what I’d be. Constitution & strength are OK, dexterity.. well I can be clumsy, but intelligence is pretty good, and I think charisma too. I like to tinker with things, build things and I could see myself as an artificer quite easily 🙂 This isn’t what I’d want to be – but what I’d be based on me as a person.

What would you be?

Buck Rogers!

Last night I managed two things. I finally got my 3rd Commendation by running FoT to get my Flawless White Dragonscale armour for my tank, Grypp. Then, we re-ran the Tor on eH and I actually pulled the +3 Insightful Strength White Helmet that I thought I was going to have to grind away for months to get. The loot gods were definitely on my side last night!

Except… that armour is very white! It reminded me of the outfit Buck Rogers used to wear in the old TV series. And when @stretchicus mentioned I needed a metal sidekick – well I already have one and could resist 🙂

Also, thanks to Samius I got the Manacles of Ceaseless Toil, which means Samius is well ahead in the good guy points. I must do something about that.. hmmm.. 😛

Have fun, see you around!

Cylons in Stormreach

I wrote a blog a few months back, where I explained how I thought the Draegloth in DDO looked a lot like Aliens (no, not greys.. the ones from the Alien movies!)

Anyway, while running Made to Order on Wednesday I came across this discovery.. the tempered iron golems stood by Hazra are actually Cylon Centurions from Battlestar Galactica!

Now if I could just find where Caprica Six is hiding….

🙂

Why oh why oh Wyoh…

I think all the monsters in DDO know that Wyoh only has 270 hit points. They talk about her while waiting for adventurers to enter their domain, giggling about how easy it would be to gang up on her and take her out so the unsuspecting so and so who hired her is stuck without a cleric.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Wyoh knows she only has 270 hit points >.<

Pssstt!

Hey, you! Yes, Turbine, stop looking over your shoulder. I’m talking to you….

You see this little thing here? You know, this page? This site? Well, I’m not the only one on here who really likes it. Yes, I admit, sometimes I have trouble thinking of things to blog that people might enjoy reading. But it’s a great place to read ideas, stories, even meet people. I have new Twitter friends because of this place.

And so, my point is…no don’t wander off – this is important. We’d really like you to give this place a bit of love. Like, oh I don’t know, fixing some of the icons, maybe sorting out some of the bugs that stop the pages from loading. Just a bit of attention to get it up to par. I mean, you released this in 2009? That’s 3 years.

You know you want to…. 🙂
