Triple Completionist

When I first started playing DDO, back in 2010, my main character was Fyrne. And I had plans to get him to Completionist, then triple completionist. Then I created an alt, who I named Hymm. He was my first monk character. And I loved him. The monk was so much fun, I started playing more lives as Hymm. And at some point in 2013 (judging by this blog) I had decided that he would be my triple completionist.

Slogging through life 34

At least, I *think* this is life 34!

The build itself has been quite fun. I had forgotten how nice it was to just hit things 🙂 But since my last post about TR’ing into this life was at the end of May, it shows just how long it’s taken to get from 15 to our current 27 1/2. We’re just not playing as much as we used to. But, the end is in sight and we’re hoping to make a push this week to cap.

TR, Site & App

TR

This blog is well over a week late – because we TR’d last weekend after completing our last set of lives (mine a Druid, Rach a Ranger). That was (thankfully) my last Druid life. I can’t say I’ve really enjoyed any of them, apart from the use of the Earthquake spell.

Thou Hast Finished Paladin

Otherwise known as “Life 32 Complete” but I’m getting bored of using variations on that as a blog post title.

But yes, we capped yesterday. My build was (something that would make Lessah and all other Paladin lovers shudder) 7 Paladin/7 Rogue/6 Monk quarterstaff build. I really thought this was my final Paladin life (assuming I stick with 3 of each and DDO don’t bring in incentives to run more) but it turns out I have one more to go. Darn.

31 down, 11 to go….

If I’ve counted correctly that is.

We capped our current lives this weekend. This life I have run a pure Ranger, with Rach running her mostly Druid with a bit of Rogue & Wizard. The combination has worked out really well (again!). Once we got to a higher level especially, as Rach would Earthquake the mobs while I picked them off. They didn’t really have a chance 😀

Life 30 and Stuff

Hey peeps, long time no blog   🙂 Since I’m too tired to revise this lunch time I thought I’d throw an impromptu blog your way.

Hymm capped life 30 a few weeks ago now. Obviously Rach capped her main, Willowing, too – but I’ve no idea what life she is on. (I’m fairly sure she doesn’t know either   😛 ). I know in my last blog (oh so long ago) I said I intended to do 15 Wizard/5 Warlock but when I actually started the build process and looking at the spells I would lose – I changed my mind. So I went with a pure Deep Gnome Wizard with focus in Illusion, with Necomancy second. I had a fine old time running around and PK’ing and FoD’ing stuff   🙂

Life 29 Complete

Hey all. Apologies once again for the lack of blogs lately. Work is hectic and we seem to scarcely have a weekend to ourselves to just game lately. But Evennote and Citi are doing a fine job of putting out regular posts. If you don’t already follow them, check them out 🙂

Today saw Hymm and Willowing hit level 30 on what is Hymm’s 29th life. This was my 2nd fighter life and I went 12 fighter/8 rogue and back to my favourite style of play – quarterstaff fighter. It’s been a fun solid build, though I suspect it was made much easier by running with a pure Warlock, which is Rach’s third Warlock life. I think she’s looking forward to moving on to other builds – she’s actually kind of bored of the Warlock now (what?!?).

Too many things to do!

So, things have been a bit hectic both in game and in real life over the last month or so. My apologies for the lack of blogs 😉 If it’s any consolation, I have another 2 planned that I hope to get out this week.

Hymm

In DDO, I’ve been ploughing through the levels with Hymm again. He’s now on life 28. Which means I completely failed to blog about how the Morninglord life worked out, nor about the Warlock life after that!

The Morninglord life was OK. Not huge DPS, not huge healing, but the aura ticked over nicely and I could hold my own in fights. A handy build for getting a cleric life without being a cleric 🙂

Othala the Warlock – Current Status

As I mentioned in a previous post, my Warlock Othala needs some changes. I would like to keep him as a Warlock, and capped, so I have someone I can pull out for guild epic/legendary raids on a weekend that I a) enjoy playing b) is useful. So I intend to Epic Reincarnate now he’s hit level 30 to correct some areas. But not necessarily straight away – I want to spend some time trying to gather gear.

This is his 3rd life, the previous lives being Artificer & Sorcerer. He is a Fey Pact Warlock and I use the Utterdark Blast to set his damage as sonic & evil. I already know I’ve made a mistake by not putting skill points into perform to increase his sonic spellpower {facepalm} so that’s one thing I will address with his epic TR. But I’d like to know if anybody has any other suggestions.
