If you follow my twitter account (I swear Tholgrin, I had that line drafted out before your blog!) then you’ll already know that we capped our main characters at the end of last week. I wasn’t sure we’d be able to do it without repeating some quests (I get bored repeating stuff – unless I’m really after a piece of gear in which case I will bore everybody silly re-running stuff) but Rach suggested we run the Eveningstar challenges when we were just short of XP for level 29. So, as level 28 characters we ran the challenges at level 30. Turns out 5 starring the challenges at that level gets you 116K XP per challenge – nice! So those got us to level 29 (and some). We got the rest of the way to 30 running the U29 quests in Meridia, the epic Orchard quests (I was sure we had already run them so that was a nice bonus when we realised we hadn’t) and two from the Heart of Madness chain.

Getting to grips with the Warlock
I’ve blogged about playing Warlock a few times now. Hymm has done 2 lives, 1 melee and one pure caster. I enjoyed the pure Warlock build so much I turned Othala into one. He is currently sitting at level 27 and will be staying as a Warlock for the foreseeable future.
So, I’ve started doing something I don’t normally do – start working out how I can make him as effective as possible and what gear I need to get him.

Character Plans for 2016
Over the Christmas and New Year period I’ve found myself switching between characters quite a lot. Due to the various states they are all in I’ve found myself a bit lost as to who has flagged for what, who is going where. So here’s the blog none of you asked for, something to try and help me focus on my character plans for 2016 in DDO.
Hymm
Hymm is still my main character and is still working towards triple completionist. Along the way, I intend to get all the Iconic Past Lives (probably more then I need to be honest) and Epic Completionist too.

DDO – 2015 Review
I should be revising for an upcoming exam, but it’s approaching the end of my Christmas holidays and I really don’t feel like it. So screw it, you guys get a blog instead 😀
2015 has been quite a busy year for DDO and for my DDO characters. So how did it do?
U25 – Reign of Elemental Evil
When this content came out, I loved it. I like Wil Wheaton and was pleasantly surprised when it turned out he was GM’ing the new content. The quests, though long, were fun and sometimes I really like a ton of bad guys to massacre. Continue reading
Finishing Off
This weekends bonus XP in DDO allowed me to get some characters finished off – finally!
Hymm
This life has definitely taken longer than usual, but there has been a lot of real life stuff to do so it was inevitable it would take a bit longer. However I capped Hymm’s 19th life on Friday. This has been my first barbarian life since the enhancement tree overhaul, and my first ever fully played halfling char. He has been a lot of fun to run, the speed of halflings, added with the speed boosts from barbarian, made quests zoom along 🙂 I’ve liked the changes to the barbarian, the self healing is very handy.

Slow Going
It’s been a busy few weeks. I’ve been revising for an exam, I’ve been working on some personal training, so leveling Hymm has felt very slow so far.
Hymm & Willowing hit level 10 a few days ago. We’re currently working through the level 8 quests on elite and they are going well. Willowing is a pure barbarian, Hymm is barbarian with 2 rogue. I was originally intending to also do pure barbarian but after a few levels I just felt that the rogue levels could make things a lot easier.

Grinding for XP
After a few days away from DDO I came back refreshed and ready to continue my TR of Hymm. Myself and Rach ran the level 8 & 9 quests on elite, so by Saturday we were level 11, 1 XP away from leveling to 12, thanks to a great run of Xorian Cipher. However our latest guildie has also recently TR’d and was sat back at level 7. We decided to give our main characters a few days break so he could try to catch us up to run with us. So on Saturday night, when other guildies were around to shortman eE VoN 5 & 6, I decided to run my artificer Othala.
To be brutally honest it was bad. Not the run, we managed fine, but I hadn’t realised how bad the artificer DPS was at high levels. Or maybe it’s my artificer DPS. I admit I haven’t spent much time getting him the latest & greatest gear, but he was very slow to clear out the bad guys…

Life 18, Guild News, App News
Life 18
Sunday afternoon myself and Rach capped our current lives. It feels like this life has gone pretty quickly (which I guess it has, 15 to 28 rather than the 1 to 28 of the previous life). I am, however, getting a bit bored of bards now. The plan was to TR back into my last artificer life using the previous artibard build – but I couldn’t face it. So last night we TR’d and I’ve gone with a more traditional artificer build, with a 2 rogue splash for evasion. We’re back to level 1 (actually, level 2 after a quick run of Korthos Village), the plan being to again hit 28, epic TR then heroic TR.

Progress Report
The TR grind continues with the New Year. Hymm & Rach’s main character Willowing are now level 14 with 15 banked. We have pretty much blasted easily through the levels so far. The champions have made some of the quests a bit more interesting but haven’t really slowed us down. The extra loot ( aka guild renown) is always nice though 🙂
Up until level 10 we were running out of ranks & levels before we ran out of quests to run. We could pick and choose which quests we wanted to skip and still level without any problem (and the XP bonus helped too!). We have even had to run a few quests over level in order to finish the chain (Delera springs to mind – we finally made the effort to get an extra Voice of the Master & Mantle of the Worldshaper to get that augment crafted).
