TR Train Comes Off the Tracks

Unfortunately, one of the guildies is having issues with his ISP. He has lost his internet and doesn’t expect it to be back for a few weeks. As we TR’d our characters as a whole guild, it seems a bit unfair for us to keep playing them while he’s not around.

Fortunately, I have plenty of other characters to work with 🙂

So, over the weekend, my partner helped me get my barbarian to cap (is 20 still cap? Oh well you know what I mean), where I promptly took my free LR to re-spec him. I always felt I’d not taken some of the feats I needed, missed a few enhancements. So this was a good point to correct that. Except that I stupidly picked the THF feat instead of the TWF feat {facepalm}. But, I took the TWF feat as well, continued the LR, then ran off to see Fred in House J to swap THF for Toughness 🙂

Last night, we ran with our second lot of TR’s. That is my fighter and my partners clonk. The whole idea of TR’ing these characters was to play them when nobody else was around. So I don’t feel guilty about playing them while my guildie gets himself sorted out. One of our other guildies jumped on with his druid and we had fun running Tear of Dhakaan with his ‘pack’.

My dark monk is working through his US epic destiny a bit at a time. But I haven’t played my high level fighter or artificer in weeks. I should really spend some time with them too……

Looking forward to Update 16, even though the Primal Avatar epic destiny reminds me of this old UK advert (and now I’m showing my age!!)

Have fun, see you around!

Easy Night

Due to various scheduling issues and previous appointments & commitments, my partner & I were the only ones one from our guild for most of last night.

We decided to run the first chain in Eveningstar with my level 24 monk (who has already done them) and her level 21 cleric (who she desperately wants to level up). And I realised that a) I had forgotten how pretty is is out in Kings Forest b) eN is quite easy….

It made a nice change from running our TR’s, who are now sitting at level 13 & 9 respectively. Because they are so close together I feel like I’m running the same missions over & over. Which is something I don’t really enjoy doing.

On Sunday night our guild decided to try eH Offering of Blood, something we’ve not tried running on epic before. There were only 4 (out of the 5) of us. It was going fairly well. There was a slight hiccup to procedures when we got to the second bridge, where the traps are, and realised the rock ledges around the side of the cave were no longer there 🙂 but we got past. Unfortunately, we completely wiped when we got to the last fight. The scorpions just stunned us over & over…. oh well. We have some ideas of what to do on our next attempt. And I definitely want to try it again, it’s something different, I’ve realised my monk is not flagged for ADQ (no idea how that happened!) and it was 45K XP!

See you around!

This week in DDO…

Well, nothing especially exciting has happened in the last week or so, but here’s a quick recap anyway.

Hymm, my 3rd lifer, is now a level 12 barbarian (I think I have level 13 banked… if not I’m close) and I’m happily running around bashing things over the head with great axes. The team has a nice combo going and we seem to be able to cover all the bases (healing, trapping, cc etc). We even did Hold for Reinforcements at level, on elite, over the weekend. I hate that guy… did you know a fire mephit only has to LOOK at him and he dies?!? However, kudos to my missus who spent the 15 minutes of the mission stood over Coyle with her paladin, healing as required, while we killed 🙂

My second 3rd lifer, Fyrne, is now a level 6 fighter. I’m getting good dps from him too. He’s not quite as much fun as the barbarian though… and I’m seriously considering LR’ing him to add a splash of rogue. This is partly because we are definitely lacking rogue skills from this group. And yes, I know, if you know where the traps are you should be able to avoid them etc but where’s the fun in that? Plus, I like the idea of having evasion. I think that sorts my lunch break at work out – playing with the character planner 🙂

My dark monk has finally switched epic destinies, from GMoF to LD. But I will be switching back every time I do anything that won’t be giving me much XP. Which gives me a reason to run Lord of Dust even more 🙂

On non DDO news, I’ve just picked up Drake 3 for the PS3 nice and cheap. I love Drake 1 & 2 and from what I’ve heard, 3 is just as good. So I may actually drag myself away from the PC for a bit when it gets delivered….. but I don’t imagine it will be for long 🙂

OK that’s me done for now. Hope you’re all having fun in game. See you around!

*** EDIT ***
Well, look at me forgetting the most important thing that has happened this week!

There’s a good chance we’ll hit level 70 again tonight, as I’m not sure we got enough of a buffer in place for todays decay to hit – but woohoo anyway 🙂

XP Restrictions

I was running Lord of Dust on eH this morning, once again looking for a possible shard drop, but also getting xp for my epic destinies, when I noticed this:-

So, this means I’ll get no more decent xp on this mission unless I change to eE? Darn!

Why oh why oh Wyoh…

I think all the monsters in DDO know that Wyoh only has 270 hit points. They talk about her while waiting for adventurers to enter their domain, giggling about how easy it would be to gang up on her and take her out so the unsuspecting so and so who hired her is stuck without a cleric.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Wyoh knows she only has 270 hit points >.<

Holiday Endeavours

Anybody who follows me on twitter will probably know I have this week off work. (What do you mean – had? Oh bloody hell it’s Friday already!)

Anyway….

It’s been quite a productive week. Because my partner & I have the day to do stuff we’d like to get done, without worrying about dragging the guild around doing stuff, or detracting from our TR runs, we’ve managed to get a few ‘jobs’ done.

She’s crafted her GS hit point item for her light monk & rogue. I created my GS hit point item for my dark monk. We both got some Cannith gear upped to Tier 3. She finished off her Eveningstar gear selections. My dark monk got his ancient gemstone docent converted to the third part of the Woodsman’s Guile set.

We also jumped into a hard Shroud last night with a pug, which was quite fun. Part 1 went very well, part 2 took 3 attempts to get done, part 3 got a bit hairy. We had just one 5×5 puzzle to get done and the wall had arrived. There were 3 or 4 people in the puzzle room – they all died 😦 So I jump in once the wall has passed and get started on the puzzle. As I’m jumping around my partner is telling me where the wall is….got the last lights lit just as it was bearing down on me! The rest of the run went nice and smooth, with 2 LDS for me in the end chests 🙂

TR’ing Again

I’m off work this week, I was looking forward to a quiet week off, just tootling around…

But while out & about this afternoon, my partner decided she wanted to TR her battle cleric into a clonk. She’s had me run through the character builder with her and everything!

Except that means I also have to TR so she has someone to run around with 🙂 shucks what a shame! So, my unloved Favoured Soul has been transformed to a Horc fighter.

Which means I’m currently running two 3rd lifers around Stormreach – lots of fun 🙂

And, just for Samius…

Pssstt!

Hey, you! Yes, Turbine, stop looking over your shoulder. I’m talking to you….

You see this little thing here? You know, this page? This site? Well, I’m not the only one on here who really likes it. Yes, I admit, sometimes I have trouble thinking of things to blog that people might enjoy reading. But it’s a great place to read ideas, stories, even meet people. I have new Twitter friends because of this place.

And so, my point is…no don’t wander off – this is important. We’d really like you to give this place a bit of love. Like, oh I don’t know, fixing some of the icons, maybe sorting out some of the bugs that stop the pages from loading. Just a bit of attention to get it up to par. I mean, you released this in 2009? That’s 3 years.

You know you want to…. 🙂

Random

I’m tired so todays blog will consist of random thoughts 🙂

My dark monk, Dimichaerii, has gone a slightly different route on his point spend in Grandmaster of Flowers in comparison to how I spent them on my light monk. I got the Drifting Lotus feat the other nght and I love it 🙂 Knocks bad guys on their arse, does great damage (on the mobs I’ve tried it against) and looks cool!

I’m listening to old episodes of DDOCast, currently at episode 133. I am taking bets with myself on how long it takes for Jerry to pronounce Samius’ name correctly. So far I’ve lost the bet twice 🙂

Episode 132 (I think) had a great segment by Xylosent (I’ve probably spelled that incorrectly!) about his love of DDO and what it means to him. This was recorded just before DDO went free to play, when it seems the now VIP’s were worried about how it would affect the game. But I think everything he said still holds true now. Check it out.

3rd life TR is going slow, but mainly because one of the guild is working late at the moment so we’re hanging on for him. Not that I mind – it means I get some epic runs in, or play with some of my less played characters. But the quest for the elusive Shard of the Envenomed Blade is still ongoing while running the U13 epics {sigh}

See you around!

Warning – Lolth IS Amongst Us!!

Yes, she thought she was being sneaky – but she has given herself away and I have figured it out!

Mizzaroo is Lolth!

The evidence?

Yep, the dark queen is amongst us! Tremble in fear!

🙂 🙂 🙂
