Pirates Pillaged my Airship!

During todays downtime I got a few jobs done, came back to play when my missus told me things were back up early, and discovered that our airship had been pillaged (by air pirates?).

Now, I wouldn’t mind, but that is the second time this week this has happened. I am seriously thinking of petitioning the Coin Lords to supply ballista for airship use.

They had them in The Shard Axe – why not?

MotU – Again!

So I’ve been pretty much been doing nothing but the expansion pack for the last 3 days. Actually, no, that IS all I’ve been doing!

I’ve been playing my light-based strength build monk and have got him to level 22. I have a few nice items for him that have put his stats up nicely (I can now hit 600+ very comfortably)

Unbelievably, I had someone send me a tell in the harbour last night asking me how I was level 21 when the cap is 20….. {shakes head in disbelief}

But more than anything, I still really love Kings Forest. Unfortunately this picture does not do the sunset justice 🙂

My thoughts on MotU

What I don’t like:-

  • The UI around items
  • Getting to Faerun (although it’s a lot like Amrath I guess)

What I like:-

  • Kings Forest
  • New loot
  • Kings Forest
  • Everything looks awesome
  • All fans of the film ‘The Princess Bride’ need to pay attention when doing the mission ‘Murder by Night’!!
  • Corn fields!
  • Shrinking mudmen 🙂
  • er…did I mention Kings Forest looks frikkin’ awesome!!?

So there you go 🙂

XPack Panic

A quick blog before I start my working day…

Our guild had a slight panic a few nights ago when my missus pointed out that none of us were actually flagged to get to the new XPack content when it drops next week. We were, but then we TR’d…. And since 4 of our 5 active members have bought it, and booked next week off, we really thought we should make the effort 🙂

It’s U13 all week this week then!

One with the dark

After several re-writes and the help of my awesome guildmates, I finally came up with a dark monk build that I liked the look of and had all the features I was trying to get in there. For your amusement I thought I’d post the details of what I’m calling my ‘Dark Dervish’. I’ll let you know how he works out 🙂

Epic surprise…

The highlight of last nights gaming – my missus hiding inside the epic chest at the end of Partycrashers with her halfling rogue, jumping out, shouting ‘Surprise!’ at the rest of the guild over Team Speak, then giggling like crazy.

I really wish I’d had Fraps running

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Going over to the dark side…

I have a clonk that has kind of stalled at level 11. I don’t think I really thought it through when I decided to build a warforged monk/cleric … Well I never said I was the best builder of characters!

Anyway, I picked up a +5 heart of wood a few weeks ago and made a start on getting rid of those cleric levels, I’ve decided to re-spec as a pure dark monk. I guess I could have re-rolled him and started again. But he has a full set of +2 tomes and some BtC Mabar wraps that I didn’t want to lose.

I’ve decided to give the dark side a proper try with my rebuild. Dimachearii (derived from Dimachaerus – a gladiator who fought with two swords) will have both touch of death and whirlwind attack.

I suspect he will look awesome but do sucky damage. Ah well, we’ll see 🙂

Addicted to DDO? Me?!

It’s coming up to noon here in the UK. I’m supposed to be painting my bathroom right now.

Instead I’m having a bacon & mushroom buttie to replenish my energy after several hours of Cannith Challenges on Thelanis to try and get some nice gear for my newly turbo levelled barbarian. Once I’ve finished I’ll be moving on to Sarlona to do some guildie runs 🙂
